Dessert Tables | Modern or Traditional Style

Written by on June 19, 2012 in Buffets, buffetscape, Dessert, DIY, Food with 1 Comment

I was challenged recently by a great friend, Susan, to write an article about building a buffetscape using only two colors. So, of course, I had to accept that challenge. I didn't have any events coming up that I could use for the article so, I baked and cooked and built a couple just to take pictures. My family loved eating all the sweet treats from the dessert tables and I got the pictures I needed to write the article. It was a win-win for sure.

I chose to use black and white as my two colors. It's a classic combination that is easily made to look modern or traditional. I ended up loving both looks for different reasons.

Below are a few of the photographs from each of the two styles -- modern and traditional. I love both styles, personally. I really think the type of event you are hosting can help dictate which style is more appropriate but there really isn't a right or wrong -- just opinion.
